AMERICAN RED CROSS AND HAROLDSAYS TEAM UP ON BE POSITIVE DAY BLOOD DRIVE - B+! GIVE BLOOD! SAVE A LIFE!

Wilkes Barre (March 1, 2008) – The American Red Cross blood services held a special blood drive on The Be Positive Do Something Positive Day on Saturday, March 1st, from noon to 5 p.m. This special blood drive was held at the Genetti’s Best Western Hotel and Conference Center, 77 East Market Street, Wilkes Barre. The blood drive was being sponsored by HaroldSays. The effort was part of the Be Positive Day on March 1st.

Harold Cameron, The Chief of Helping for HaroldSays, said that his life’s mission and passion is encouraging positive thought and action everywhere and to everyone in the world. One way that he did that was by promoting the Be Positive Do Something Positive Day on March 1, 2008. “One great way to do something positive is by donating blood.”

The American Red Cross relies on voluntary donations, people in area hospitals depend on receiving the “Gift of Life”. Every two seconds, someone needs blood in this country.

March is Red Cross Month, in celebration Red Cross month; all presenting donors will automatically be entered into a drawing to win a tote full of American Red Cross goodies.

Blood donors must be at least 17-years-old, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in general good health. 16-year-olds may donate blood provided they provide a parental consent form. Identification is required to donate blood.

If you missed the blood drive and would like to donate blood call 1-800-432-8045 ext 2150 to schedule an appointment.

At 1 PM Mark Hoog spoke at The Be Positive Do Something Day rally at the Genetti’s Best Western Hotel and Conference Center in the Embassy Ball Room. The rally was free and was open to the general public. In his inspirational and potentially life-transforming presentation Mark made us laugh, he made some of us in the audience cry; however, he made all of us think about what matters most in life - and that is to make a positive difference in our world.

Many thanks to the good people at The American Red Cross for their partnership with me and for their role in making the Be Positive Do Something Positive Day a success in Wilkes-Barre on March 1.
